Here's how I finally fixed the No Partnership issue

Ok, so I had this No Partnership issue for over a week now, where the ActiveSync tray icon was spinning for a minute before it complained that the device was not recognized. I finally solved the problem tonight.

I had to do two things:

1) under Settings/Connections/USB to PC, I unchecked "Enable advanced network functionality"

2) on the PC, under Activesync/File, delete the Mobile Device profile.

Maybe I don't need to do step 1 -- but I HAD TO do step 2 for it to work. People have mentioned these two solutions separately before, so maybe you have to do both together?

It now syncs properly. Here's hoping it doesn't fail again.
