Ever since Dell replaced my X51V with a new one (refurbished, that is) I have been able to sync through ActiveSync with relatively no trouble. I also unchecked the Enable Advanced Network Functionality under Connections and USB to PC, and that seemed to make the process even smoother. I have had to reboot on two occasions when Microsoft did the the great favor of sending automatic updates to my pc - Boy do I hate those, but other than that, it has been an absolute pleasure - compared to before - with synchronization at home and at work. Interestingly, they just gave me a newer machine at work with Windows XP - I had been using Windows 2000 - ugh!, and when I loaded ActiveSync onto the new PC, it synced with the Axim 1, 2, 3. So, for the moment, I'm happy!:)
