I'm trying to sync 51V with my desktop and Outlook. But when I go to the Desktop Active-Sync, Tools | Options, most of the items to sync are grayed out and can't be selected (calendar, e-mail, contacts, etc).
Favorites, Files, and Media are the only 3 things that can be synched. How do I get the other items activated?

You have installed you have to have the full version of Outlook installed, not just express. Depending on which version of activesync, you have to have either 2000 or later installed. Outlook is included on the cd you got with your axim. If you are using the beta version of activesync you may need a later version.
I installed Outlook from the Office 2003 CD, so it's the full version. Activsync was installed from the Dell CD. I'll check again when I get back to the school, but I think I have the newest version of everything.

I have the full version of Outlook 2003 and I am having the same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am the admin on my home computer. I have sync'd fine for 3 years. Now for some reason can't sync my calendar and contacts because it says I can't access my "network". It is my home laptop that I have been accessing for 3 years. Arggghhh BTW calendars, contacts, and notes are grayed out (attention required) while microsoft money and Inbox are not grayed out, but no info is being sync'd.

Is there plenty of memory spare on both devices? I have seen similar problems to this where memory was short on the host pc.
As the problem is Contacts, Calendar and Notes, I suspect that it may be an Outlook problem. Try repairing Outlook (use the installation CD & select repair from the install menu) or looking for updates from Microsoft.
Check also that you are using the current version of ActiveSync

That makes sense. Thanks a lot. I will try that. We often overlook the solution that is the easiest
