How to stop constant auto syncing?

Every few minutes ActiveSync turns on my X51v (even when I specifically left it turned off) and syncs!
I want to be able to do this manually only when I want to!

Please help!

On my old X30 it was easy to switch to manual, but I don't see it on this ActiveSync v4.1 and X51v!

Is there really no way??

I don't want to kill the tray icon - I still need ActiveSync to be always in the tray, only not syncing automatically - I want to sync manually at my own convenience, like in X30!

Mad

Yay! Found this solution: http://www.bevhoward.com/ASync.htm (goto Stopping WM5 Activesync 4.x Five Minute Sync Interval and Constant Wakeups)

* Nope, still wakes up every 5 minutes! :(
Any other solutions?
This is soo irritating! Why did they do this?? Why did they stop allowing manual sync??

The fake server trick does not stop the 5 minute autosync while connected via usb.

The only solution I found to stop the 5 minute auto sync when the Axim is in the craddle is to unplug the USB until you want to sync. Fortunately, my USB hub is at the front of my PC and easy to get to. (Fake Server Trick should fix the 5 minute auto syn when your Axim is not in the craddle)

Another solution would be to sync via BlueTooth which is great :approve:

The easiest way is to uncheck (disable)"allow USB connection with this desktop computer". Just enable it when you're ready to sync. That together with FST works for me when I need to charge my Axim just using USB as the power supply.

Sorry, didn't realise that this was AS firing up automatically while connected.

I haver never had this problem, since I have the opposite. I have never yet been able to synch (after one years ownership)!

For my x50v I just open Active Sync/Tools/Schedule and change Desktop schedule to "manually". This is AS 4.2

That's what I was looking for! Thank you!
But I just checked and in my AS v4.1 this SCHEDULE option is grayed out!

EDIT:
Well I don't get it - I just upgraded ActiveSync from v4.1 to v4.2 and yet the ActiveSync > Tools > Schedule is still greyed out!... (and I'm pretty sure it's everyone with X51v and not just me... Or is it??)

How can we enable this grayed out Schedule option?!

I've read about this constant re-syncing but never had it occur on my X51v. I usually hold the ON/OFF button down until I get NOTIFICATION then hit OK for FULL POWER OFF. It will cycle if I don't do the FULL POWER OFF, however.

X51v with 4Gb Lexar CF and USB cradle using AS 4.2..

I'm not sure if this topic and the issues i'm experiencing are the same, so forgive me if i'm just not getting it...lol. When i would dock my x51v active sync would fire up and sync everything since my last dock, then it would stay connected untill something in outlook changed (ie. new mail, new task etc.) At that time it would automatically sync and then remain just connected until something else changed.

Now, as soon as i dock the axim, it syncs and will continue to sync in a cycle, forever.... it will not stop the continuos sync unless i push the stop button. then it will sit connected until there is a change in outlook and it starts syncing once again, cycling constantly even though there are no new changes.

One other interesting tidbit is i don't even have a sheduling tab, and i'm sure i used to. I'm using ActiveSync 4.5 (build 5096)
