Aximsiteactivesyncicon Pocket PC Networking Error

Received a replacement X51v and have encountered several performance peculiarities. Most I have been able to work out, with excellent assistance from posts on this forum.

When doing a sync I get the following error message on Axim:

Pocket PC Networking

Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings.

Am syncing via USB. Sync seems to work though for some reason not getting e-mails (using Outlook 2003) but other Outlook info, e.g., tasks, contacts. E-mails are selected for syncing.

Anyone know the cause/solution for the error message?

Try this for your error message

1. On a Windows Mobile powered Pocket PC, tap Start > Settings > Connections.

2. Click or tap USB to computer.

3. Clear the Enable advanced network functionality check box.

NB: this only refers to rom version AO12

I'm having this problem too. However, when I disable the advanced network functionality, I get a dialog box saying "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial". Any ideas? Thanks.

I had the same problem and was directed to this thred here for the 'Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial error" from xda-developers.com.

They say temporarily deleting Bluetooth COM ports made the option work. Granted, it wasn't on an X51v but it was under Windows Mobile 5.
