Mad Activesync Window Won't Maximize

I have searched and searched but can't seem to find an answer anywhere.
I have been using Activesync 4.2 since it was released and it has always worked OK. Now, however, It loads and syncs just fine to my X51v. I can right click on the icon in the taskbar and get at EXPLORE, but no matter what I try, I cannot get the ActiveSync window to become visible. I can get it into the taskbar, but I can only toggle between RESTORE and MINIMIZE - Restore never actually shows the window.

Has anybody seen this phenomena before? Anyone know how to fix it? I have tried everything, including deinstalling and reinstalling Activesync. I have this problem on two different computers so far.

This is probably a long shot, but it wouldn't be posting it offscreen by any chance, would it? What happens if you bring up Task Manager, select Microsoft ActiveSync in the Applications tab (assuming you have XP) and select Switch To?

Have you had a second monitor connected to the computer at some stage? If so it might be opening there.
