Activesync and McAfee Security Center
After upgrading to latest version of McAfee Security Center I no longer can get my x50 to sync completely. Nothing of the calendar, contacts, email, notes or tasks will sync now. It keeps telling me that I have anetwork issue and to contact my network administrator. Since it is a single computer I am sure that isn't really the issue. I am sure it is something in McAfee that is blocking the connection. Never had this problem until today. Somedays it just doesn't pay to upgrade! Anyone have any ideas?!?

Most likely it will be a firewall upgrade that's causing the problem. Open the McAfee Security Centre and hunt down the firewall interface (I don't use McAffee and so I can't offer detailed instructions). You are looking for an option to allow programs to connect (it'll be a list of some description) - find ActiveSync and set it to full permission.

Activesynce and McAfee
Quote:
I had a problem like this when I updated last year. Make sure that under the Firewall internet applications list that Activesync App, Active Sync Connection Manager and Outlook.exe have full access and are not blocked. This should then allow the connection to work. Also I've had to uninstall and reinstall Activesync in the past. Hope this helps.

I uninstalled Secuity Center to see if this was the issue and it appears that it isn't the problem. I still get the same message:
Information Type Not Synchronized: Items of one or more information types cannot be sychronized. Disconnect and reconnect your device. To view all error messages and dialog boxes that require your input, you must connect to this computer via infrared or serial/USB cable. I get the same message when I am trying to sync via infrared or USB cable. Any more suggestions. I have installed nothing new on either my laptop or my Pocket PC except for Mcafee Security Center which obviously isn't the issue.

Check to make sure that the Windows Firewall is also switched off and reinstall McAfee.
Perform a soft reset on the Axim and then try connecting it back to the laptop
