I dunno but I'll find out in a couple of days as I have a new Vista laptop coming to replace my old Tosh that died last week. I'll give it a try and let you know.

Yes. I suspect the driver update might be aimed at increased the number of supported mobile devices as Vista has built-in synchronization capabilities.

Activesync does not work in Vista -- so this is your sync option. I installed last night -- its pretty simple, nice looking interface.

This was also sent via Automatic Update (Windows Update), if you were previously running beta 3.

Nice that they finally released it so you don't have to use pre-release software on a brand new OS.

The drivers DO NOT work with the X30. Hope they do for the newer axims!

this may be a dumb question, but do you need to remove activesync from the axim (when using wmdc) or does it need to stay on? i've got an x50v with wm2003se.
comments would be much appreciated.

I just got a new X51V yesterday and can not get it to sync with office 2007 using WMDC (newest release). I can get it to be recognized but not able to sync at all. I get an error "ActiveSync encountered an error on the desktop" Any ideas here? I called Dell and they had no clue and said to call Microsoft...

Is Vista forcing upgrade all around?

Okay, so bought a new 'puter for home, Vista Home Premium. My work 'puter is still XP Pro. I have been syncing just fine with that. Am I now going to lose ability to sync at home because there is no backward compatibility between Vista and ActiveSynce 4.0? what is up with that? there is no way my employer is going to purchase Vista for at least two years, they are a large network and are going to wait for all the bugs to be worked out. this really sucks, its enough to make me want to go to Linux.

okay here is a dumb question, how do i know which to install, 64 bit or 32 bit? can't plain english be used anymore? okay okay, answered my own dumb question by checking the "properties" section of my computer icon, it shows i have a 32-bit computer (core 2 duo whatever that is), but what about my PDA? or does it matter? guess i will find out....

okay, i downloaded the 32-bit version onto the Vista home computer, and then got an error message that Outlook had to shut down. otherwise, the install seemed seamless enough, my computer says it did not sync but my PDA said it synced, and i checked my contacts, and it's been updated, so it seems to have WORKED. will wonders never cease. this is Vista Home Premium on the home computer, and A11 on the Axim. so will report later how this works with the work computer.....
