Stupid ActiveSync!!!!!!!!
HGello Everyone!! I am a proud new owner of a Axim x51v. So i guess i am an Aximian woohoo.

Anyway yesterday i formatted my computer to Windows XP PRO SP2. A installed most of my programs and everything including Office 2007. After applying the finishing touches on my pc, i decided to install activesync 4.2 and i did. Ok then i connect the PPC to the computer and.........waiting........waiting......waiting... ...... BOOM Nothing Happens!.

I don't see anything. ActiveSync program does not pop on the computer at all, even when i double click on the icon. And on the Axim when i tap the icon beside the clock at the top it says "Connectivity: ActiveSync Conected" and that it. When i go to my computer and click on the Mobile Device folder, it is empty and after a couple of seconds it says "Critical communications services have failed to start. Try resetting the mobile device, and then connect again" I did a Soft Reset but nothing also happens.

I repeatedly installed and reinstalled AS but to no avail. PLEASE HELP, I WANT To Try My New Apps

Have you tried disabling your firewall(s)?

Well window's firewall was disabled and i just disabled the AVG firewall and put the Axim in the cradle but nothing happens.

I also forgot to mention that i don't see the AS icon beside the clock on the task bar, even if the axim is connected or not.

Did you try starting up the active sync from your axim?

While it is connected and in the cradle...

start>programs>active sync

try to sync, check connections, etc....

I am able to connect via bluetooth withh my axim not in the cradle

Worth a try anyway.....

You might want to check Activesync help
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...c/default.mspx

Lots of things to try anyway......

Usually, with activesync, when you have a problem.....you keep trying things until it works..... and then you aren't sure what you did...but are happy it is working!

Ok thanks i guess i have to play with it

But also my other problem is that ActiveSync itself on the PC does not want to open when i click it. Even if the Axim is not connected and no matter how many times i click the AS icon it doesn't open. Also the green spinning does not appear in my Xp's task bar

Am having the same problem as raniosman. Made no system changes recently and no new progs in the last 48 hours. ActiveSync on the PC is saying there´s nothing to sync to and on my AX the green wheel is trundling round looking for a connection. Hmmm?
