Activesyn Bluetooth Com ports Q?

Hello,

Anyone know how to "release" the com ports from the program? I had bought a bluetooth adapter for my PC (bilionton PCMCIA card to be precise) and initially the drivers wouldnt instal. So of course.......MS took over and instaled its own drivers. I hooked everything up (as limited as the MS stack is) and away i went

ActiveSync was fine then. but i did it twice, and it renewed 4 com ports (2 incoming, 2 outgoing)

So then i was a little upset about the loss of functionality of my new BT purchase. So i went and installed the Toshiba stack (what it came with). Now i can get EVERYTHING else working BUT the activesync LOL. i'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems that i dont have any of the low number com ports available.

How do i release them since they arent being used anymore?

It appears the Toshiba stack is simply incompatable with active sync. Simple answer....

I don't agree. I have the Toshiba stack on my Latitude D420 and I use Bluetooth exclusively for ActiveSync (AS has USB problems trying to connect through a port replicator).

With that said, I'm not sure how to tell you the way to make the Toshiba stack "release com ports". I find Toshiba to be somewhat high-level and not very configurable.

I'm using a BT2.0 USB dongle with Toshiba stacks. ActiveSync with BT works fine with me.
