hey axim-brainers; any of you got AS 4.5 and Sygate Pro FirewaII ? - it appears that the sygate blocks Active sync even when I explicitly allow the connections for my axim mac, ac ports and *.exe files.

the only solutions is to turn it off.. has anyone came up with a workaround ? I think Sygate is still the best firewall out there ( not for noobs though ), and I am not ready to give it up just for the stupid M$ piece of crap.

After searching previous posts I realized that changing the 2 registry entries solves the problem.

Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEDriversUSBFunctionDriversRNDIS]
Name of the Value to add: MTU
Type : DWORD
Data: 1514 (Value is Decimal)

Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEDriversUSBFunctionDriversRNDIS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer
Type: DWORD
Data: 1642 (Value is Decimal)

I had nothing but problems with Sygate and Activesync. Sygate kept crashing on me when I would remove the Axim from the cradle. I ended up going with Comodo firewall. It's free and it's not a bad piece of software.

when something is crashing - remove the crashing software and the software that you think triggers the crash. clean registry, temps, delete "program files" entries -> and reinstall everything. Should work.

Need help with Activesynch. Previously, I could synch, but suddenly today get error messages that cannot connect. Added the 2 registry above but still get error.

Did the troubleshooting scan and even says nothing is wrong. Am I missing some setting error some where?
