Alternative to activsync?

After following all instructions correctly why is my x50v still not recognised by pc through usb port. Read so many different comments and followed firewall instructions but to no success. Any suggestions please.
Are there any alternatives to activsync for loading up programs on pda, I do not have wireless ability with pc.

Welcome to AximSite. You may want to try MonSync. Its freeware at http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=985

Make sure the Axim is on and AS is running on the PC when you plug in the USB form the Ax cradle.

You can install many programs without the use of AS. If you get the .cab file of the program you can put it on your ax using a card reader or bluetooth, or by downloading directly from the net. Once it is on your sd or cf card you can run it from there and it will install on your Ax.
