I have an Axim x51v with Windows mobile 5.0. I am currently using ActiveSync 4.5, but I really preferred AS 3.x on my old Axim x5 - there was more control over synching options and the abiltiy to backup the synched files etc. on my desktop. I'm considering downgrading to a previous version of ActiveSync. Does anyone know the earliest version I can safely use with Windows Mobile 5.0?

Unfortunately, you need to be using ActiveSync 4.x with WM5.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. Then, there would be no advantage to using a previous version of AS 4.x because the 4.x versions eliminated the user controls and backup/restore feature that I want to use. It really bugs me that I can't set AS 4.5 to replace info on my computer from my Axim. As it is now, when I sync the desktop info replaces the Axim info, which means that manually entered info on the Axim gets deleted. Does anyone know of a way to work around this?
