ActiveSync runs twice
OK, X50 w/ WM2003SE, AS 3.8. Plug the X50 into the cradle (or with sync cable), boot up the laptop and AS will connect and the wheel starts spinning, looks ok so far. Then I will hear another connect sound from the Ax and the wheel keeps on spinning, and spinning and spinning. AS on the laptop will indicate that it's looking for changes. Checking the running programs on the Ax shows ActiveSync running twice. Tried deleting partnerships and establishing new ones. Didn't reall resolve the issue. If I stop all running programs on the Ax, re-connect to the laptop it usually syncs once and everything is OK. Any thoughts or suggestions? I was thinking about deleting and re-installing AS (I have the 3.8 install files), but didn't want to go throught that.

Go to Start >Settings >connections > Avantgo Connect and see if there is double connection, if so, delete one of them. Happened to me once, there were two connections thus synching twice.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, looked at that and only one AdvantGo. I'm just wondering if it's the device or the laptop. Does the latest version of AS work well w/ WM2003SE?

I am using WM2003SE and ActiveSync is 3.8 and it works fine.
Oh, now I feel stupid! I was talking about Avantago and you were talking about Microsoft ActivSync. Sorry.
All I can think of is soft resetting your device and see if that helps?

No problem. I had the AdvantGo problem a while back and corrected that. I have been able to correct the problem, I think. I went to AS on the AX, tools, options. and made sure that none of the boxes were checked - Use mobile schedule to sync with this PC, and Sybc with this PC during manual sync. So far it has worked.

I'm not sure what you mean as administrator. Are you asking if I have admin rights? Yes, I do.

Some people has user only, some has both user and adminstrator right (With user - you use computer as you usually do but when you need to install, change settings, etc. you will need to change to adminstrator mode to do so, then once finish, you change back to user mode. It could be that your AS is running both. But you said you got it fixed so that's all it matters! :approve:

Continued frustration with this situation. I upgraded to As 4.5 this morning. So far so good. I still need to upgrade AS on my other pc and try to sync.

Still very frustrating. AS launches twice or more on the Ax, then get a communication error on the Ax causing a complete lock up needing a soft reset. Should I just re-install the OS on the Ax and rebuild?

I still have problems here. AS will launch multiple times upon connection (USB, Cradle/USB or BT), requiring several soft resets and reconnections until I get a sucessful sync.

I know. I haven't tried that one, but I will. Thanks for the tip.
