Does the following ring a bell with anyone?

When using ActiveSync 4.5 to sync with my Axim X51V, it doesn’t usually get past “synching folders” and will not sync until a message appears on the PPC stating “A critical error has occurred. The next time you sync, you will lose changes made since your last successful sync”. After clicking “OK” to this, it will start syncing all the time until I disconnect. Then we go through the same scenario again. My guess is that it’s deleting a config file and remaking it correctly after I click “OK”. Am I right? Where do I go from here?
