Loss of Internet via ActiveSync
I have several programs that download information form the Internet via ActiveSync (SBSH PocketWeather, Spb Insight and NewsBreak).

Until recently these programs connected to my dial-up internet connection via ActiveSync but for the last few days I cannot get an Iternet connection.

My X50v is running WM 2003 SE Version A04 (05130500). It syncs with my desktop using ActiveSync Version 4.2.0 (build 4876) as normal after "Looking for Changes" it goes to "Synchronised".

My desktop is connected to my usual ISP (which obviously I am using to send this post).

But, despite both these connections being normal, I still get no internet connection for any of my 3 programs. PocketWeather actually says "No internet connection".

I have removed and re-installed ActiveSync 4.2 on my desktop, but this makes no difference.

Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone suggest what I might do to solve the problem?

I would be very grateful for help.

Many thanks for your suggestion but:-

1. I have tried it with the Firewall turned off and it still does not work.

2. I use only the Windows Firewall and ActiveSync Application, Connection Manager, RAPI Manager and Service are all listed as exceptions.

3. I have always had the Firewall turned on but I have only lost the Internet connection for the last 10 days or so.

Thanks again.

I did this to myself one day. I was in the Connection Settings of AS and I unchecked "Allow connections to one of the following". I figured since I didn't use Com 3 it wouldn't make any difference.... Wrong! It stopped my connection to the internet. I checked it back and everything was good again.

I have had programs reset the AS connection settings (still don't know which one did it) and keep me from connecting to the internet. Check to make sure the selections under Network Management haven't gotten changed. These got changed on my AX once and kept me from connecting.
