ActiveSync and Bluetooth Connection

I have just bougth a Dell x51v and I can connect to a bluetooth GPS, to a mobile phone and even to the laptop. The problem I have is that I cannot make sync using the blu tooth. Every time I try it says I need a partnership. I make it, the sync starts but stops at the end. I turn off my Firewall and stopped the virus protection. I know sync through bluetooth is very difficult because I had similar problem with a Mio P550, but it was much easier and I connected.
Is there anyone that had this problem and has the solution? I am using XP with Activesync 4.1 and WM5. In fact I have tryed AS4.2, but with the same problem.

I have never had a problem using Bluetooth to sync my device.

All I did was make sure bluetooth was turned "on" on my laptop, then I clicked on the bluetooth icon on my x51v and turned bluetooth "on". Next, I went to the <devices> tab (x51v) and set up a new partnership. My x51v found my laptop immediately - I clicked on my laptop and checked the activesync box. Finally, I brought up activesync and chose <menu>Connect via bluetooth. Everything worked fine from here.

I hope this helps -

I followed this procedure but with the following doubts:

1) When I choose for a new partnership, and it connects, it openned services, like COM ports. Should I select COM services?
2) If I select COM services, there are 02 possibilities, Incoming and Outcoming. According Axim instruction manual I should select incoming and I did.

It starts the activesync and stops. I had the same problem with a Mio, and using the same bluetooth pen drive and driver. It is possible the problem is in the laptop. I will try to find another driver. This blue tooth pen drive uses a Bluesoleil software that I do not like. It is so complicated and may be it is the problem.

Please confirm me if you select COM service when making the partnership or just stops at this point.
Many thanks for your help.

The only time I have had a problem (or similar problem) is when my laptop showed that bluetooth was on, but the bluetooth icon wasn't in the task bar. I had to go to programs and click on the bluetooth program there. Then once the bluetooth icon in the taskbar appeared, everything worked fine.
