Worried Two newbie questions please!!

I am going thru the process of reinstalling 3.8 for my x50v because it has stopped working.

1)Is 3.8 still considered to be the most stable for my older x50v on xp pro?

2)I think I may have messed up an activesync setting on my device. What are the typical or most important settings for USB?

THANKS

I use XP Home Edition with X50V, have updated AS to v 4.5 and it works fine (keeping fingers crossed that I did not jinx it). I did use 3.8, but had to upgrade when I added an X51V to the system.

Make sure that under "Connection Settings" you have the box checked to allow USB connections (setting within AS on desktop). That one has kept me from connecting before. Also, to speed things up, you can set under "Options" for the device to sync only one or two categories (such as calendar and contacts), then once those are working add other categories in.

You still may want to use ActiveSync 3.8 if WiFi syncing is an important feature to you. That feature was removed in v4.x.
