ActiveSync and SBSH PocketWeather v 1.3.6 problems
ActiveSync and SBSH PocketWeather v 1.3.6 don't like each other!!
http://forums.sbsh.net/index.php?showtopic=17065 http://forums.sbsh.net/index.php?showforum=28 I had no problems until about a week ago..... and then update on pocketweather started to have problems...and then ActiveSync 4.5 refused to sync..... Solution (for now)....for me....uninstall pocketweather (I need to be able to sync other info more)....until they come up with a patch/fix/solution.....Just thought I'd pass along the information....for others who may have suddenly started having problems syncing....... Hi Susan,
I feel the issues rests solidly with Pocket Weather, as it would appear that many/most/all users are experiencing significant problems getting their weather to update. See http://www.sbsh.net/forums/index.php?showforum=27 It seems that there is something failing in the intial download sequence which is preventing updates from finishing properly. As a long time user of Pocket Weather, I am just hoping the new version of the software due in the next month or so overcomes the many issues I have with this software. Hopefully someone will find a way around the updates issue, as I can't be bothered to do yet another clean install and manually type in all the settings again (restoring the settings causes the problems to continue!)..... I hope so too, John. I am going to miss having the weather on my axim.... I hated to uninstall it, but I needed to sync other items.
I know they are working on a solution at SBSH. They are very good with updates/fixes on their other programs I will definitely reinstall after the problems are fixed (okay, I will probably wait to hear that others have had success with reinstalls first )Susan

I've had the exact problem. Images would update, but only from the image configuration window. Soft resets wouldn't help and I decided not to hard reset.
Here's what I finally did. First, I uninstalled pocket weather. I also found different installations that were still working. One was in main memory in program files, the second was on my sd card under an sbsh directory, the third was on the sd card in program files. I dumped all of them. Next I cleaned out the registry of Pocket Weather. Now I completely re-installed on my sd card. It went under program files. I then put my registration in, and completely starting from scratch put all my images back and weather info. It has been working flawlessly since. When I connect to the internet, I manually update and within about 8 seconds, everything updates. I have an x51v running the latest version of Pocket Weather. I'm also running activesync 4.5 work also works with no problems at this time. I did notice, while activesync is starting, it connects to a couple of microsoft websites. If it is denied these sites, it seems to hang. I have my firewall setup to allow all connections and no problems. Hope this helps some.

Hello Again Susan,
It appears that Pocket Weather is now working again, and that the issue was a server problem at their end. I haven't tried it myself as yet, but the forum has lots of happy people saying it now works - but roll on the new version! Cheers John

Thanks John.... Do I feel lucky
?? Guess I will give it a try ![]() I saw amitregev (administrator on their forums post the following: "...the problem that we had seems to be related to the problems we had with our site servers a few days ago, and things are now working back again without any problem once that we finished the upgrade to our servers, which also resolved some of the previous problems that we had with our server. We are still not completely sure what is the relation between the two, but things are probably indeed linked together and we will start checking this too to verify what was indeed causing this issue" I am sure they will look into what caused the problem. SBSH customer service is the BEST!!! Susan EDIT: re-installed and all seems to be working well ![]()
