stop active sync desktop auto startup
My desktop ActiveSync auto boots every time I boot up, and then it says it can't connect with my port (ir). How can I set it up so that I manually connect when I want to?

Do you sync with your desktop via IR? If not, you need to open activesync on your desktop - goto Connection Settings and select either USB or Serial depending on if you are using the serial sync cable or the USB cradle. Otherwise, everytime activesync starts up it is going to check the ir port and try to find something to connect with.

Thanks, but I do use the Ir port to sync. I find it most convenient. On my old Palm OS, I just had to click the HotSync (counterpart of ActiveSync), hit Hotsync on my Palm, and it did the rest.
I want to open the programs when I want to sync, not at bootup everytime. | |||
