Active Sync detects no previous sync
Has anyone tried to sync and got the message that your PPC has not been synced with your computer before, but it has? This has happened to me several times. Is there a fix? Other than going through each item and determining whether or not to combine or ignore.

I assume its treating your PDA as a guest?

I also assume you are using Outlook 2002 right?

That is correct. It asks 3 things, 2 that I remember - if I want to combine, ignore or ??? After, I go through the list for each item, contacts, tasks, calendar, etc. it is fine, for a while. I am also running XP home.

Do you have a copy of Outlook 2000? There is an undocumented issue with ActiveSync and Outlook XP/2002. If you notice, some newer handhelds only come with Outlook 2000 because of this issue. I don't know anything more about why it happens (it is an issue with any version of Activesync), but the only way to fix it is to downgrade to Outlook 2000.

I have Outlook 97 and 2002, so I guess until there is a fix, it will be an annoyance. thanks.
