Does anybody knows how to sync with Avantgo Server?
I have tried lot of times and there is no way to be successful.
The proccess remains trying to contact MAL Server but never contacts....
I didn't have any problem with my old Palm, but since I have the IPaq 1940 It is impossible to use Avantgo.
I use ActiveSynd 3.7.1.
Some suggestions???

I use Avantgo with my Ipaq 4150 and ActiveSync 3.7.1 - and it works great.

I can not suggest a particular item that might be causing you a problem - but I know that I am offering good advice if I tell you to read the instructions very carefully.

I had reason to re-install Avantgo a few weeks ago, and being a previous user I whizzed through the installation steps at speed, ignoring the request to setup an Avantgo account on the web site using my desktop PC etc. Needless to say - it didn't work!

I then had to uninstall, reboot, and then reinstall. This time round I performed every step as prompted - and it works great. I didn't end up having to create a 2nd Avantgo login afterall.

So, perhaps you could try again??!

I also had issues with my Hp2210... I do not remember the exact circumstances... but it had something to do with activating Avantgo with a freash system... I was only able to activate it after I did a hard reset of my device.

To be honest I never found that I had time to read it anyway... nor the rss feeds I have on my today screen...

Go into PocketPC SETTINGS

Then select the tab for CONNECTIONS

Click on the icon for AvantGo Connect.

Then you need to make sure you have a Server set up called AvantoGo.com(sync.avantgo.com:80).

If it doesn't exist, click on the ADD button and add the server with the following properties:

Hostname: sync.avantgo.com
Port: 80

In the Properties screen, you also need to enter
your AvantGo Username and password.

The Connection options should have the following checked:
.Connect to this server
.Refresh all content at the next sync

Accordingly to PPCSG.COM, the Avantgo client for PocketPC has been updated to 3.3 build 1300.

Hello All - hope you don't mind if I barge in, but I'm having these same problems with my iPAQ1945. Two things I've noticed that could be problems with my situation are: 1) I don't have the AvantGo Connect icon located on my Ipaq, and 2) when I go to the "Options" tab in my ActiveSync (3.7) software, under "Sync options" I don't have the option of selecting AvantGo Connect to sync. It is listed, but there isn't a box next to it to select.

The software seems to have installed properly, but I'm having no luck at all in getting connected. Please help ... thanks in advance!

I've had some issues with Avantgo, latest 3.3 version and prior.

Try this:

1- uninstall avantgo from you desktop computer and reboot it,
2- soft reset your PPC,
3- connect you PPC to the desktop and sync,
4- install the 3.3 version of Avantgo to you PC,
5- I think the PPC will ask you to soft reset,
6- run the avantgo connect from your PC and write in your user name, pass word, select the first two boxes (sync next connect (I believe) and update all on next connect (or something like that) leaving the last (secure connection) one empty,
7- sync your ppc,
8- connect to the internet,
9- once sync go to options and Avantgo should have a boxe by it, check it
10- your ppc should automatically sync again with Avantgo included,
11- after the sync is over open avantgo and you should see your stuff.

Some of those steps might be extra, but I found the routine to work well.

I did have to reinstall Avanto from time to time. It has a tendancy to reset itself to default sometimes. I have not isolated all instence, but it does it after restoring from a backup or after a ROM update.

Lauzobe - I never get to Step 6 of your suggestions. That screen never comes up. From where do I run the AvanGo connect? From their web page or is it somewhere on my PC? I don't find that menu option on my PC anywhere.

In programs through your Windows START button of your PC you will find a folder called Avantgo. In there you'll have an avantgo connect icon.
