Critical communications services have failed to start
I could sync the first time but after this first time I get this error message: critical communications servises have failed to start. Does anybody know a solution for this problem???

Are you syncing thru the cradle/cable or wirelessly? And have you tried a soft reset? That sounds like a message that is comming up on your pda(ipaq I assume). I would first try a soft reset on your pda, if that fails then back everything up & hard reset. Also rebooting your pc couldn't hurt either. Try that if you haven't and if the problem persists then post more details(ie model of pda, version of windows, if you've tried syncing with more than one computer).

Do you have a firewall installed on the PC (ZoneAlarm, for example)? If so, try disabling it. If that works, you should be able to set ZA to allow ActiveSync (I think it's WCESMgr.exe) access to your PC.

It is McAfee.

You were right it is the McAfee firewall that prevented communication between PDA and PC. Thanks for your help
