ActiveSync triggers logon to Internet
Setup: One of the PCs I am using ActiveSync has AOL installed.
I have attempted to install a 3rd party software, which seems to have configured ActiveSync to call up log on to the Internet. I have since removed this 3rd party software, but the ActiveSync on this PC still has the same behaviour, as follows:
As soon as I place my iPAQ in its cradle, ActiveSync gets started. This in turn triggers AOL log on; if I interrupt the AOL log on, ActiveSync simply hangs, until an Internet connection is established.
This is a nuisance, as I am not alays connected to the Internet when I want to back up my iPAQ using ActiveSync.
I suspect this has something to do with the configuration on the PC, as on another PC that I use ActiveSync, with the same handheld, I do not encounter this problem.
