Error 608
Hi,

We have several iPAQ 2210's and now and again when the ipaq is placed in the cradle to sync witht the PC we get an error 608 unable to communicate but if you do a soft reset it is fine after that. Does anyone know what this error number means or where you can get a list of error numbers for the ipaqs

Thanks

That's not an iPaq error, it's M$ - "a device was not found." Seems most frequently associated with modems and network devices. My guess is that it is an issue with your USB ports but I'm not sure what actually causes it.

BTW, please do not cross post. The most helpful people on this site scan all the new posts regardless of which forum it is in. Cross posting often results in multiple answers to the problem. Even if the answers are identical, you've essentially wasted one person's time.

I've had this happen to me on some occasions and I have found that it is not always the PPC that causes the problem. Doing a soft reset ensures that nothing is running on the device that could interfere with communications between the desktop and the PPC via Activesync.

Most always if there is a problem with the PPC itself causing a communications error it has something to do with what you have installed on your PPC that could be interfering.
