Bluetooth problems
Hi All,
I have a HP rx3715 paired with my laptop. I have Com13 and Com14 configured (outgoing/incoming). My problem is when I want to select Com13 in ActiveSync's 'Connection Settings' it doesn't show there. I can see Com1 and Com2 but not Com13. The bluetooth connection works fine (I can send a file from my laptop to the Ipaq). Thanks, Gergely

I don't think Activesync will even recognize COM port numbers that high. See if you can use COM5 - COM9 on the desktop. Once configured then AS should be able to see it.

Any ideas?? BT is working on other functions fine (i.e. serial connection, file transfers, etc..). Only problem seems to be the COM port assigned.

I am having the same problem, with the same equipment,
Billionton USB Bluetooth and HP2215 Have spent all day messing with this. Narrowed down the problem tho I think. As whitelyt says, com ports above 9 are not recognised by active sync. Only problem is, i cant seem to be able to select ports less than that, the more i fiddle, the higher the port number goes, currently up to 14 and 15 atm ANyone know how to reset the com ports so that they are added at a lower port number?

Have you tried using the latest drivers from Billionton? The latest drivers is 1.4.2.11. The update program is found here.

To see the unused com ports try the following: go to a dos prompt (start, run, cmd) then type set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES = 1 hit return Go into your hardware device manager, then click on view there should be an option for show hidden devices. Click it and look at com ports. At this point you can delete the lower ones that aren't in use anymore. Good Luck!
