That was about a year ago and the latest build was several months back.

I thought I had seen this earlier as well. The last release was the 3.7 Version. This release posted is the 3.7.1 Version. It may be that this was first released for Windows Mobile 2003 only ?

Here is the exact words from the Hewlett Packard Compaq Website as far as the release date - - - -

"customer advisory MH040907_CW03 revision 0
released September 2004" - - -

Which is how and when it was released - SEPTEMBER 2004 ..... so if any one of you are saying the "lol" and so on - it is with HP Compaq, not me okay. No one likes 'flaming'.

This was posted as it appeared and as it was posted accross the Internet.

Anyway, all welcome to join the PDA Mobile Cafe Yahoo Group (I am Group Owner):

Unless this is another new build (which seems like a very strange change of practice for M$ to release new builds instead of versions), version 3.7.1 was released in Oct 2003 and build 4043 in Mar 2004 as indicated in this post.

Well again, the personal comment you posted here - as to 'hidden agendas' for posting is "flaming" a person - to accuse someone and so on. I just happened to notice that apparently you are the "ikehiker Super Moderator" - the Forum Moderator - so I think this is beyond any member comments. I did not realize that was my first post (which seemed to immediately get 'trashed' ) as I have been a member for awhile.

Yes I always 'promote' my PDA Mobile Cafe Yahoo Group as Group Owner and Creator because it is one of the best at Yahoo Groups, especially for locating PDA Software and more. As a PDA owner/user I created the group as user-friendly. There is the Option here at the IpaqHQ Forums to "add a signature" to each post made by a member. I do not see then how someone 'promoting there group' was anything wrong to Forum Rules - as the Forum itself promotes members to promote themselves by Signatutre to Posts. That is how I do find this next post by you as kind of a 'personal attack and flaming' concerning myself 'promoting my own group... as real motive of posting'.

My reply again is that my original post concerning the "Release of Active Sunc 3.7.1. Upgrade" came about as I read list mail from a couple sources and checked at the official website. ALL Information said this was just released in September 2004. I posted that here, as I generally post major upgrades and service packs released - and remembered the IpaqHQ Forum, logged in and posted it. Again - the official website gave September 2004 as the release date. If anyone is to be doubted, I would then have to conclude it is HP Compaq not me, as the posts say "I am wrong" - instead of saying "perhaps HP Compaq is wrong" ..... Okay?

My post was trashed and I was personally attacked and flamed here. That is evident. So if you are Moderator of this list, then I would not really think it strange that I was banned or barred from this Forum. But whether a member or Moderator, if someone posts as they did here against my person or verity - I would defend myself, and I am not a dishonest person with "hidden agendas". So I am even more surprised that a List Moderator has posted this, and not just some inane or obscure member that likes "trashing" forums and lists. I would think an apology was in order for the personal attacks made about me. As I said, the Forum promotes members to promote themselves by the Signature Option - so what has my promotion have to do with the whether the Active Sync post was correct or not ? How did the rest of that come into it - or why the unexpected personalality attack? A little off the wall out of left field is it not ? I hope the 'ego' is not in the way of an apology here !

I do not see anything by the persons who posted in this thread to 'back up' what they are saying. Can anyone show information even to dispute what was posted or prove what THEY are saying. I did not see anything. There was even a person at another group who claims to be using Active Sync 4.7.1 for months now. My last comment then here is can anyone posting in this thread show information about their own posts instead of making flaming comments like "lol laughing out loud" and the others ?

I answered and posted the Release Date from the Official HP Website. Additionally, here is the information from Microsoft which shows the Release Date as June 2004:

Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7.1
Web: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
Description in brief:
Microsoft® ActiveSync® 3.7.1 is the latest synchronization software for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and Smartphones. ActiveSync 3.7.1 contains fixes making synchronization more trouble free than ever before.

Quick Info
File Name:
MSASYNC.EXE
Download Size:
3866 KB
Date Published:
6/7/2004
Version:
3.7.1

I know I missed this and I do not remember how. I have not even got to the installation yet. So, this was another part of posting this in the beginning - - - for anyone who may have missed this, or always remember there are new owner-users everyday, even those who purchase used or refurbished Pocket PC's that are not perhaps running the latest Updates and Service Packs. Did you know Ipaq is up to Service Pack 3 ?

My apologies to the thread for lengthiness, but I could not leave my name here undefended. I hope you understand and thank you.

Well not to trounce on any toes, but I follow *THIS* site and want to say thanks to the poster of the update notice, not really caring where it came from, but understand the concern/question regarding s/w version numbering and M$ s/w realy detailing an update. I just installed on w2k/pro and it went fine. Case closed.

Just my .02, if there indeed was a "new" AS dot release or any other, most PPC sites would have advertised it (ie. PPC Thoughts, BrightHand, etc).

CB,

If you are indeed the "moderator" of a PPC related Yahoo group or support it in some fashion, you would you think that your resources would be extensive enough to verify that indeed something new was released by m$.

In addition to IpaqHQ, I visit other sites (some mentioned above) to get a well rounded dose of PPC information.

This is not an "attack", just a comment regarding the level of information out there.

BTW, I have had 3.7.1 (4034) on my desktop since March of this year.

Ikehiker, Hats off to you for stepping up and removing your post. I think it's great that you made things right by Cbgerry. I see much to often threads that develop into nothing more than insult after insult with no positive value to anyone. Just another reason to come to this site
