stuck "Looking for changes..."

ActiveSync 3.7.1 has been quick as a snap since I started using it a month ago on my iPAQ 4150. But today, it stalls on the initial "Looking for changes...". It makes very slow progress. After about 10 minutes, I get an error message that ActiveSync couldn't complete. Any suggestions?

Are you syncing wirelessly or by USB? If by USB you should check the connections and maybe swap cables.

I am syncing with USB, switched to a new cable, and it works fine again. Thanks for the help.

RE: Stuck Looking for changes

I had the same problem as many others has had. I just got off the phone with Palm Support and they told me what to do and it not only worked, it now synchs a lot faster than before.

Two steps:

1. Delete all files in your \windows\temp folder on your device. (This can take up to 30 minutes.

2. (This applies to the Treo 700W by Verizon only) There is an update available by Palm that corrects the problem so that the files will not build up again. It also includes a free copy of Sprite Backup. Here is the link:

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...kup/index.html

The link says sprite backup, when you go to download it if your phone does not have the latest update, it will download it first. Install it as per the instructions then go back to that same link for the backup software. It will look like you are going to get the same file again but it will get the backup file.
