Activesync and Dell port replicator
Anyone with experience in troubleshooting problems with a Dell port replicator? I have two recurring, sporatic issues with activesync.
1. Periodically at computer startup I receive an error message that the program failed to initialize. If I finish the startup and then restart the computer, the problem is solved 100% of the time (so far). This is a 50/50 shot every morning.
2. Typically late in the afternoon when I plug my iPAQ back into the cradle to sync, I get a "new USB device attached" message from the laptop and no response from the iPAQ. This is solved by a laptop restart and iPAQ soft reset.
Neither problem is devastating, but both are quite annoying. Are they related? I've seen other posts that suggest the "failed to initialize" may be caused by the replicator, but have yet to find a manageable solution (one site suggested I upgrade to the latest version of Norton Anti-virus corporate edition; me and what army are going to push my IT to that action?).
