Sporatic ActiveSync connections
I can't get my 3955 to connect consistently. Most of the time, I get the dredded "Not connected" message. Occassionally, I'll get it to connect and then everything works fine . . . until I disconnect the unit from the cradle. If I disconnect it, more than likely it won't reconnect.
I don't get any other messages on my desktop other than "Not connected"; however, there is a message under the ActiveSync option on the handheld. It says, "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present". Since I've been able to connect WITHOUT creating any modem settings, why would get this message? And more importantly, what do I do about it? I suspect that perhaps I have a hardware problem. Possibly the leads on either (or both) the cradle and handheld maybe damaged. I don't know if this would account for this problem. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem. I haven't seen any similar posts, so I thought I would throw it out and see . . .Thanks in advance for any help.

Just a follow-up. . . With some trial and error (quite a bit actually), I've been able to get my Ipaq to be recognized more consistently by Activesync. So far, the only thing that has worked is making sure the Ipaq is within the plastic case that came with it when I put it in the cradle. I'm then able to lock it into the case and it usually connects. I don't recall seeing anything in the manual that said the PDA had to be in the case for Activesync to work.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get an 3955 to Activesync consistently WITHOUT using the case? Thanks.
