Outlook Won't Start Without IPAQ in the Cradle
I had no problems with ActiveSync until I tried sync'ing my Outlook 2003 inbox. After a couple successful syncs, the sync'ing of emails just stopped completely. Now, a couple weeks later, Outlook will not start-up unless the PDA is in the cradle and sync'd. When starting outlook, I get a pop-up box to send/or not send an error report to Microsoft. After selecting either option, Outlook shuts down. Once I sync-up my IPAQ 4155, Outlook starts and checks mail as normal. I changed the inbox sync option to not do any sync'ing but the problem persist. I've looked through past forum posts and searched Technet but found nothing like this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dan | ||||

Heck that's a new one (I have not seen it bofore).. I have seen the problem of Outlook not closing when you have your iPAQ in the cradle and have continuous sync enabled, pull out the PPC and Outlook closes. But for Outlook not to run, sounds like something has got corrupt somehow?
Usual Outlook troubleshooting suggestions follow, export your rules, make a note of PST location (assume you are standalone and not on an Exchange server), address books, etc. and create a new profile with the same PST, address book and import your rules. (may want to copy your signatures, etc). If that doesn't fix it then perhaps Outlook is somehow accessing something on the PPC on startup?? Have you loaded any other utilities on your PPC or PC that might affect this? | |||
