Outlook "forgets" that it has synched with my PPC previously

I keep having to set up new partnerships between my PPC and my PC.

The PC / Active Synch / Outlook set up on my PC will not accept that they have met with my 2215 before. I have to set up a new partnership with a new name since it keeps thinking that my PPC is a different machine even though I try to use the Device ID on the PPC.

The PC has to be given a new name for the partnership and then synchs as it should. It also renames the PPC.

Any ideas. It's really p*ss*ng me off.

Ok, here's the deal.

If you need to re-establish a partnership this is what you should do.
1. With your PPC disconnected go to AS on your PC and Delete the existing Partnership.
2. When asked, select to KEEP your PC's version of Pocket PC My Documents.
3. Connect your PPC again. AS will use the existing Partnership name.
4. AS will ask you to replace PPC information with PC info or Combine PPC and PC. This is your choice.

If you combine PPC and PC data, you might find that some of your outlook calendar and/or contact information has been duplicated. There are a couple of utils out there that delete dupe Outlook data on the PC and I think there is even a PPC util to delete dupes on the PPC itself.

HTH!

Thanks JNG, I take back everything that I've ever said about Americans <tongue in cheek smiley>.

I owe you a beer. I'm coming to Boston and NY/NJ in September so I mean it.

I won't have to spend the rest of my life being a little dissapointed with my PPC <british understatement smiley>.
