Help-Tryed everything to Sync
Hi,
ActiveSync has suddenly stopped working. I have never had problems before, but now get when I try and sync I get this message. "Synchronization cannot complete successfully. Disconnect and try again. If problem persists, use ActiveSync Troubleshooter." I have tried checked that the repl.dat file is there and I am not using Outlook. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks ![]()

Are you using Outlook or not? - I couldn't decide what you were saying What are you trying to sync? Have you tried to create a new partnership? To do this: - Open Activesyn without your ipaq connected - go to File>Delete Partnership - KEEP you sync'd files (if you want to keep them) - Follow the Wizard Does that work?

Has sync ever worked? Every so often I too find it stops suddenly. I pop out the battery for a few secs and restore and all's well. Not sure what this has to do with AS but it works.

You've tried everything? Could you give a list of what you've tried? I've had a number of active sync issues over the last months and eventually solved them. Knowing what you've done would go a long way to helping. Here's a few ideas to start with...
Reboot your PC. Soft reset your PPC Reload AS (disconnect the cradle, load AS, reconnect the cradle) Delete the partnership and start a new one Open AS before you put your PPC in the cradle Put your PPC in the cradle while powered Usually some combination of the above will get AS working again. Another issue I found was a ghost USB connection in the PC device manager. Reboot your PC, go into device manager and View-> Show Hidden Devices If you have multiple HP USB connections, double click the grayed out one and make sure it's not in use - it'll tell you in the dialog box. CLose the dialog and right click the entry and delete it. I found about a dozen different ghost connections throughout my PC.
