I recently in stalled Activesync 3.8 over 3.7.1 on my 2210. When I plug my ppc into the cradle the desktop Activesync does not know it has been connected. The only way I can get it to sync is to remove the ppc from the cradle, reset it and then plug it back into the cradle.
I also just upgraded recently to rom1.10 and added an SD card. I am not sure if that is relevent or not.
I would appreciate any help.

Try uninstalling 3.8 completely and start with a fresh install. Make sure your cradle is not connected when you install.

  

Check the other 'Can't sync' thread. I also listed some issues I had with AS and USB ghost connections.

I have reinstalled 3.8 twice and it makes no difference. I have unplugged the cradle as suggested. The program does not think the the ppc is connected. I get the tone from the desktop when I plug in the ppc but not the tone from the program. In order to get it to sync I have to do a soft reset. It will sync once then not again.

I am new to IPAQ. Had 6 palms in the past. Am debating installing Active Sync 3.8 over 3.7.1. After seeing these posts I am confused. Any help ?

Initially I had no problems when I installed AS 3.8 pver 3.7.1.

Over the last week I seem to have developed the same problems as above. I don't know why - I haven't installed any new apps or anything. May have to revert to 3.7.1. I suppose the saying is true - if it aint broke don't fix it!!

Have you deleted the partnerships? - including the sub directories on your C: drive? and then recreated a partnership?

how do you create a partnership?

If no partnerships are already created (or you have deleted them) AS will automatically start a wizard that will create one when you put your iPaq in its cradle.

I am also having an issue with 3.8 but it involves not having Outlook open when I connect. I sync between 2 PCs and when I have changes from work and try to sync at home, I receive errors for all my changes but if I open Outlook first everything is fine. I am not sure if this helps with your problem but you might try it.

My problem with AS 3.8 is that it appears to connect (I can install software and explore the device) but my internet connection doesn't work any more.
Worked fine with 3.7 a few days ago, now its dead as the proverbial Dodo!

Any ideas?

Check your firewall as the new version is likely to be seen as a different programme by your firewall software.

last night I completely uninstalled AS, disconnected the USB cable restarted PC and then installed 3.7 again.
When prompted I plugged USB in, turned on PPC and placed into cradle and it worked perfectly.

2 hours later I try again and "The page you are looking for cannotbe displayed"

This is crazy, I'm really starting to pull my hair out now!
How can it work one minute and then stop the next. I tried connecting again this morning without success.
Surely I dont have to delete and re-reate the partnership everytime I want to connect!!!

Have you tried disabling your firewall?

My XP one is always off, I turned ZoneAlarm off too, I set my router firewall to off and also closed Norton AntiVirus, still no joy.

When I reinstalled it worked with all these on (except XP firewall thats always off).
