When I connect my USB cable, the green thing on the ActiveSync window rotates for about a second and then the window freezes, so for example it can't be dragged by the title bar. After 2.5 minutes it unfreezes and synchronises normally. Anyone else have this? Is it normal?

It's not a problem for me as such, but I've separately been having huge problems updating the ROM: it kills my iPAQ every time, and I need to use
this method to recover. Since ROM upgrades seem to rely on an ActiveSync connection to work, I thought I'd eliminate problems with AS first.

I'm using Windows 2000, ActiveSync 3.7, and connecting to an iPAQ h2210. Here's my wcesmgr.log from a frozen period. It shows two freezes, one for 30 seconds and one for 2 minutes.

Try uninstalling AS and then installing the updated AS 3.8 to see if you have better results.
