USB ActiveSync speed differences
OK, I've got a bit of a puzzler here that I can't seem to work out.
I have an iPAQ hx4705, which works beautifully, no issues whatsoever. I currently have ActiveSync 3.8 installed on both my desktop machine and a Toshiba M205 Tablet PC; both computers have USB 2.0 ports with all necessary drivers/INF files installed. The iPAQ is able to sync with the Toshiba at what I assume to be the full USB2 speed permitted by the PPC's hardware; however, when connected to the desktop PC, with the same PPC and the same version of ActiveSync, the process goes much slower. This condition has persisted even after a completely clean Windows XP installation, and multiple reinstallations of ActiveSync. I've checked and double-checked the BIOS settings, but I can't find anything amiss. It's probably a shot in the dark, but does anyone have any suggestions? | ||||

I have file synchronization turned off on both machines (I keep most of my files on a SD card); the difference is in the actual transfer speeds across the USB connections. I'm willing to admit that it's probably a hardware issue, but I'm hoping that there might be a registry setting or something somewhere that can be changed to fix this.
