Activesync 3.8 Problem

I am still having alot of problems syncing with 3.8. In order for it to work I have to soft reset my PPC then it will only sync once. I have removed activesync from m y desktop pc and disconnected the cradle, installed the software and then plugged in the cradle when told to. That didn't fix it. I can not see Activesync in the list of programs on my PPC when I go to remove programs. Is that normal? I therefore have not been able to remove Activesync from my PPC.
Can I reinstall 3.7.1? It worked great.
Any help whould be great as this is driving me nuts
Thanks

I have the same or similar problem. When I put my iPAQ 3950 in the cradle, ActiveSync continues to think it is a GUEST, as opposed to the POCKET_PC is it supposed to be. I have reinstalled ActiveSync on my computer at least a half a dozen times to try and fix this, but to no avail. Any thoughts?

and how do i do a hard reset on this unit? I can not find instructions on this in the manual. Thanks.

Well I guess we've all had our share of AS problems; in removing from the PC, you really need to reboot between steps. Also ensure any previous partnerships are deleted: see

C:\Documents and Settings\<<YOU>>>\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles

substituture <<YOU>> for your windows profile. I just move the entire folder to the desktop or wipe any remnant of ActiveSync\... off your system after you've de-installed AND after you've rebooted.

Then follow AS instructions; i.e. DON'T have your PPC in the cradle during install, only when told to.
