Can't synchronize files...

Whenever I try to syncrhonize files from my PC to my Ipaq, I get a "sychronization error" and my PC will not recognize my Ipaq at all. The only way to fix this is to disable the synchronization of files and it will work again. Does anyone know why this would be happening? Is there some sort of setting I am missing?

Thanks for your help.

Can you give us some more information? where are the files located? how much memory do you have on your device?

I would remove all the files from my PocketPC (or whatever yours is called) directory and then add them back one by one until you find which one causes the issue.

If none of them sync then I would delete the partnership and start again.
Regards

I have an rx3115. I normally don't sync files at all but I just wanted to try one file for work it is an excel spreadsheet. I click on the settings for synchronizing files and I added the one excel file to "syncronizing folder". Then when I try to sync it gives me the error. Then I have to uncheck the option to syncronize files and it will work properly again. If I manually drag and drop the excel file to my storage card that works fine.

When you sync do you have it set to convert files?

There are quite afew features of desktop Excel which do not work on Pocket Excel (planmaker is a good replacement spreadsheet programme) - try it with another file instead and see if that sync's. If so it sounds as though your excel file is using functions not supported by pocket excel.

If you are trying to just 'transport' the file from one pc to another pc then just turn off the 'convert files' function in Activesync and then you will be fine - as AS willnot try to convert it and just copy it as any other file.

If, however, you actually want to use the spreadhseet on your ipaq then you will need 3rd arty software.
