windows CE registry keys

using an iPAQ hx2415 with the latest rom update and wm2003se

i'm guessing registry keys in my PPC got deleted because it will not sync on either of the two computers i tried it on.

the device manager registers the device but active sync sits there with "no partnerships" displayed and will not go any further, on BOTH pcs.

is there someone who's willing to export keys relating to activesync from their ppc and send them to me please? i do not really want to hard reset right now.

hkcu>software>microsoft>windows CE services
hklm>windows ce services
hklm>software>microsoft>windows ce services

thanks guys.

I have never heard of Registry keys being deleted

You can try to recreate the partnership by:

- Opening AS on your PC (when your iPaq is not connected)
- Go to File>Delete Partnership (save the files when it asks you)
- Perform a soft reset of your iPaq
- Put the iPaq in the cradle and follow the create a partnership wizard.

Hope this helps.
Regards

won't work.

it happens on both pcs so i'm guessing it has something to do with the ppc and not the computer itself..

here are some screenshots.

It is probably something on your PPC but if you follow the steps above - it should fix it on your PPC as well.

What happened?

With regard to your initial request I am wondering how you know they are the keys that you require?

Also the settings in hklm>software>microsoft>windows ce services would be unique to each user as it has the PC name and a unique partnership key so I am wondering how yours got deleted
Regards

i think i may have accidentally deleted them via a registry editor, but if i had them back (even someone elses) i could edit them to have my computer name, etc.

I think your best bet (sorry to say) is a hard reset.

But we will see if someone posts them for you.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

This shouldn't be a problem, surely, as you made a copy of your Registry before you started doing anything with it? Didn't you????
