ActiveSync over network not working
When my Pocket PC is connected to the network via 802.11b, I am able to sync to the exchange server with out a problem. However, I am not able to sync to the PC (so tasks, notes, etc.)
It errors out and tells me to restart my device and try again. All firewall settings are taken care of for ActiveSync on the PC. Before I upgraded to AS 3.8, it would even go so far as to beep at me like it is trying to sync. Now I just error out. "Cannot start communications with the desktop computer." "Reconnect your device. If the problem persits, see Microsoft ActiveSync Help." http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883903 check that Once I get this working, then I will need to be able to do the same thing via a VPN. It seems like the connection management in WM2003SE is kind of goofy. Its not like I can just click on something and say "okay, connect to this VPN real quick over whatever my current internet connection is!" | |||

I found this post http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...697#post667697 and followed through it. Seems like same issue yet I can't get the same fix.
Ive also just disabled the firewall outright and still no go. | |||

This is an ongoing problem with ActiveSync over WiFi...I've followed that AximSite tutorial as well and my settings are dead-on accurate but I cannot sync to my laptop in the office via WiFi...
It's very frustrating and I wish MS would just come out and say "Yeah we know it's BORFed and we're working on it"... ![]() | ||||

However I can't get VPNs to work over that connection or any connection for that matter. Even if I did, it wouldn't matter. I still can't get it to sync over the LAN yet alone over a VPN'd LAN. I keep running into more and more people that can't get it to work.
