ActiveSync Why has it taken so long for this category?

Cant Sync contacts and other things

I dont know whats going on with this. But after I reformatted my PC i reinstall activesync off the CD that came with my iPaq and everything seemed fine. But the only things i can sync are:

Favorites
Pocket Access
Inbox
Files
AvantGo

And when i try to Sync:

Calander
Notes
Contacts
Tasks

It wont let me, there isnt even a checkbox, I tried disconnecting the device and then checking them, but it still wont let me sync that. I even tried deleting the partnership and setting up a new one and i still cant sync them!

In one of the menus, it says all the things i can sync with details next to them, and for the items i can't sync it says "Not Installed" How is it not installed!?

Should i try redownloading it from the MS website or something?

OK i tried redownloading and i ended up with a newer version (yay) but it still does the same thing

Did you install Outlook on your PC first?

Hey wow, When I Re-Installed MS Office after reformatting my PC, this time i chose not to install outlook because i dont use it. I'll try installing that and then let you know what happens.

Okay cool it works now, thanks alot. After i installed it i just re-created the partnership and it gave me the options to sync those things.

won't sync contacts, calender and task

i have a customer with an ipaq that won't sync calender, tasks and contacts.
i tried everything:
no exchange server mentioned so thats not the problem
i deleted all partnerships all profiles and created new ones
i uninstalled both outlook and activesync and reinstalled them tried AS 3.7 and 3.8
upgraded the ROM completely therefore cleaned the PPC and still doesn't work !

any help will be graet !!

I assume that the PPC is connecting with the PC (i.e. the icon rotates on the PC & A/S says that it's connected).

Have you looked at the options within A/S & confirmed that the PC & PPC are set up to sync (look under Tools/Options, & the relevant check boxes should be ticked).

they are connected and syncing all but the calender, contacts and tasks. i can install software i could update the ROM i could do anything !!
i have a feeling the problem is in the outlook but god knows where, after all i reinstalled it also

It may be the version of Outlook that the customer is using. I think it needs to be at least Outlook 2002 to work with A/S (someone else might be able to be more exact with this ).

i am using outlook 2002 and it sync however not the elements mentioned above

I am having the same problem. It started after I had to hard reset my IPAQ.

Before the reset all my things synched perfectly, now a list of things I really want to sync wont.

this specific device has never been hard resetted. i simply cannot tell whats thee problem i have a feeling thats itssomthing to do with whole office package...
