ActiveSync: Is there a better way to move mp3s???

I have come to the conclusion that ActiveSync just can't handle large files well. It moves a few MP3s to my HX4700 and then it hangs.

How do YOU put MP3s on your PPC?

Thanks!

Shields,

Presume you are sticking them on memory card (Compact Flash or SD), so would suggest you obtain an external card reader / writer, or even one that fits into spare floppy bay on your PC. These are mainly USB 1.1, but some are USB 2.0 transfer speed.
Hell of a lot faster / safer for transferring large files or large numbers of files.

shields, if you're saying that you're having trouble moving these files using Activsync, then have you tried just copying & pasting the files using file explorer on your PC?

Otherwise, I'd go with the others' verdict & get a card reader.

If you do this when you are connected to your cradle/ cable/ wifi then you are using AS

A card reader is the way to go

As other have said, a card reader is the way to go. However, in my case, I use my mp3 player to move stuff to SD cards for my iPAQ. Works beautifully too, and is still significantly faster, despite only being USB 1.1 on my laptop. Works well though!

I'm just an old fashioned guy....I open two windows, one showing the mobile device and one showing the HD with the files I want to move. Then I drag and drop...works adequately.
I'm not familar with card readers. How much do these tend to run?

It usually depends on how many different formats you want to use, I have seen them as cheap as $10.00 and as expensive as $40.00.

I think everyone is in firm agreement that an external card reader is the way to go.

Rob, You're right, I was defeated by the terminology (I was thinking that shields meant something different to what I think he meant, which was different to what I meant to say - "confused, would we?" )
