Anyone know if there's a way to reuse the old name of a device so that it can be reused. I recently had to do a hard reset and had to change the name of my PDA....
Any help is appreciated.......

Yes, after a hard reset you will have to delete the activesync partnership on the desktop. Open AS on the desktop. If you only sync one PPC to your desktop then just goto File -> Delete Partnership. Then you can resync and you should be able to use your old PPC name.

Further to this...
Ive been plauged by this problem since i've owned an ipaq, i couldnt believe it was this simple, well for me it wasnt. Didnt work, however, what i did discover is that if you unhide hidden files, you can see:
C:\Documents and Settings\***YOU***\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles

I deleted the names and then could active sync using my default name.
3 bloody years!!!!!!!!!!!
