ActiveSync Why has it taken so long for this category?

Trouble getting ActiveSync to work with 2nd PC

Hi,
I've got an iPAQ 1715, with ActiveSync 3.7.1. It syncs fine with my old Inspiron 8100, but for the life of me I cannot get it to work with the new Inspiron 600m.

It looks & looks for "new information", detects however many discrepancies exist between the PDA & the PC, asks me whether I want to integrate in which direction, etc., & then after 20 minutes I get "Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Disconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the MS ActiveSync Troubleshooter in MS ActiveSync Help on your desktop computer."

Need I say that clicking on the Troubleshooter option takes me only to a sales site?

I've tried this whole process almost 10 times, with identical results. I've uninstalled from the 600m & reinstalled--no joy.

Anyone out there had this problem? Anyone out there SOLVED this problem?

You can download the latest ActiveSync (version 3.8) and see if it helps your situation.

Are you trying to sync your inbox? as your PPC already has a connection to another PC's inbox and you are only allowed to sync with one PC.

Frenchy--the 3.8 magic worked! Thanks very much indeed.

rob1303--you're right, it'll only let me sync inboxes with one PC. I'm not sure about the logic behind that, but I can live with it.
