I have a user who is trying to connect the IPAQ to his laptop. Neither USB or Serial port will connect. He is using an older Ipaq with version 3.0.11171, build 11178. Active Sync version is 3.6.or 7. It sees the connection, but will not recognize the device and connect. Any suggestions on this would be helpful. Thanks.

You can first try using the newer version of Activesync (3.8). You can download it here.

Do you get any connection errors? Can you further describe what the connection process is doing? This will help troubleshooting it a little better.
