How to start from scratch
I need ( or want ) to start over with Active Sync. How can I delete all references to it on the XP computer and then reinstall. When I just uninstall and reinstall it seems to "keep" some settings. I have tried to search this answer but I am on a ship in Alaska and the satty connection makes dial up seem like DSL !! So apologies !! Could someone point me in the right direction.
Regards and thanks | |||

To completely uninstall ActiveSync.
Unplug the cradle. Go to: Control panel> add/ remove programs and uninstall Activesync Then go to C:\program files\ and delete the Activesync directory. Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\ and delete the ActiveSync directory. Reboot your PC If you have a registry cleaner you could run it here - but it shouldn't be necessary. If you do run one reboot your PC afterwards. Perform a soft reset of your iPaq Install Activesync and follow the instructions. Plug-in the cradle (without the PPC in it) - let windows find the new hardware When on the blank Desktop place your iPaq in the cradle and follow the wizard. Hope this helps. | |||||
