Active Sync Issues

Just recently when trying to sync my IPAQ4150 to PC I get the following...
Active sync just stays in in a connecting state and does nothing else until I terminate the process after a lenghty time.
Also, on my PPC I get the folling error: Unable to connect. Verify your dialup or proxy settings are correct and try again.

It appears that my PPC is trying to connect to the internet when all I want is it to be able to sync with my PC

Any ideas/help

Sunny, the first thing to try is uninstalling Activsync from your desktop & then re-installing it, remmebring to follow the installation instructions (use v3.8 - if you haven't got it you can download it from Microsoft's site).

Let us know if this works, or if you need more help.

Also try rebooting your PC and soft reset your PPC. Since the software is on both, either of them can get, uh... confused.

Guys,
Installing A sync 3.8 on my PC seems to have done the trick (on my work PC at least.) Still need to try it at home. Thanks for the advice

And make sure AS has access through your firewall (have you updated recetly by any chance?)

Funny you should say that coz i have updated recently but I already thought of that and made the appropriate changes. Thanks for the tip though.
