IPAQ file store Synchronisation
Since I have transfered my notes on the IPAQ file store, they are no more synchronised with Acticve Sync.
They stay on the IPAQ (rz1710)and are not transfered to Microsoft outlook. They have been suppressed of Microsoft Outlook.
Does some one know where the problem comes from ?
thank you

Hi and welcome ipaqfdt.
The problem is that AS can only sync with the system memory (RAM) an so any files on the filestore or storage card cannot be synced. The only way is to have your notes in the main memory.

Of course, with WM5 and everything swithcing OVER to ROM, and Active Sync 4.x, this looks to no longer be an issue. It's only a matter of time until they release that software.

What else to do?
I am experiencing the same frustrating problem. I want to store notes, word and excel files in the file store of my rx3715 so they will be safe, but also want to view and work with them on my laptop. Is there a work around for this? Is there another sync program, notes progam that i can sync with my laptop seperately from activesync? It seems useless to have the secure memory if you can't back it up on the PC, whats the point?

Could I somehow keep all my notes and docs in a single folder to move back and forth between main memory and file store just to sync? That last seems like a lot of trouble and seems very likely to cause problems.

And last, if I do store all of my notes in main memory, will they restore to the RX in the event I need to perform a hard reset, or restore to activesync if it crashes and has to be reloaded?

Thanks for any advice, Dave

the only problem with using file store for frequently used files is that it has a limited ammount of write cycles. while this is a large number(cant remember) it is still limited.

I have install many of the programs I use to FileStore. Once installed, there is no need to synch these programs. I load most all my documents, notes, etc. to a storage card, and I use Mighty Synch to keep these things synchronized. I set the options in Notes to automatically store to my storage card. For the most part everything, programs and files, are secure in the event of a hard reset. I minimize the number of files and programs placed in main memory because I want to reserve as much RAM as possible to execute all the programs.
