Incorrect time sync (time differs an hour from pc to pda)

I have both my PC and iPAQ set to GMT-6 timezone. The PC has "Daylight savings" enabled.

When I sync the iPAQ gets the time from the PC but it takes on hour from it. Example: I sync at 10:15, the iPAQ sets its time to 09:15.

This should be a very common issue, I've seen it in other Pocket PCs but never found the definitive solution.

Also, if i disble daylight savings and set the time manually on the PC, all my appointments change to one hour less so that seems not like a good option.

Anyone with the same problem?

Check under regional settings on your PPC and make sure it is set to English (United States) also in the Clock settings for time zones make sure that not only the right time zone (GMT-7 for example) is set, but the right area (GMT-7 Mountain US) since if you set it to GMT-7 Chihuahua, La Paz they don't use daylight savings time so it wont be used.

Thanks, but they're actually set to match both language Spanish(Mexico), and timezone GMT-6 Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara...

Oops, sorry, just assumed you were in North America. You might try GMT-6 Central US and see if this makes any difference. It sounds like your PPC is not picking up on Daylight Savings time. If this is the case it should be correct between the two after October 30.

You are right I moved the date to December and the time sync'ed right, put it back to october with the PPC set to GMT-6 Central US and remained OK.

Thank you

I hope they would put the daylight savings dates in GMT-6 Mexico too..

Glad I could help, I suspect that the only difference between the two time settings is the Daylight Savings time, so I don't think there will be any adverse results of using this fix.
