IR OK. USB not working

I can connect via IR (have to select ActiveSync, connect via IR) but when I put the iPaQ in the USB connected cradle, my PC does not recognize the iPAQ. There is no device attached. I checked the XP Security for ActiveSync and it is listed as an exception. What dumb thing am I doing or not doing?

Can you let us know what version of ActivSync you're using? (there's known 'features' with some of the versions

)

Version is 3.8.0

3.8 should work OK, so...

Try a soft reset (whilst not connected to the PC) & then connect to the PC & see if that works.

Thanks. That did the trick. Still had to do some fiddling with ActiveSync but it now works. Thanks again for your help.

No problems, glad it's sorted

You'll soon realise that the answer to most problems is to do a soft reset
